Know what is the Internet

Before we know more about the internet, it's good to know what is the internet. In general, Interconnected-Networking or commonly called the Internet is series of computers that are connected in some series. The Internet is a common computer system related globally and use TCP/IP protocol as the exchange package. It is a network of networks that consists of millions of private and public, academic, business, and government networks of local to global scope that are linked by copper wires, fiber-optic cables, wireless connections, and other technologies.

Internet brings a wide array of sources of information and services, especially the inter-linked hypertext documents from the World Wide Web (WWW) and the infrastructure to support electronic mail, in addition to the popular online services such as chat, file transfer and file sharing, game online, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) person-to-person communication through voice and video.

The origins of the Internet reach back to the 1960s when the United States research project funded from the institution to build a strong military, error-tolerant and distributed computer network. This research and the civil fund new backbone by U.S. National Science Foundation spawned the world's participation in the development of new technology and the network led to the commercialization of an international network in the mid-1990s, and resulted in the following limited application in the popularization of almost every aspect of human life modern. In 2009, about a quarter of Earth's population use Internet services online.
